The Peace Economy is a parallel economy, which consists of businesses that have as a part of their mission, or maybe their entire purpose, to generate funds to support peace causes. Since war and defense spending is amply funded through taxation, we need to find another way to finance peace. It is only fitting that the means of financing peace should be something that is painless and peaceful, and even some how passive or automatic, as opposed to the not always welcome presence of taxation

By "strategic shopping" we can generate what could be called "passive assistance" for peace. There are so many new means whereby merchants will pay a finder's fee or an afilliate commision to anyone who brings them a customer. We can ignore that potential money, or we can shop strategically, and harness it for Peace Causes that we believe in.

By shopping with businesses that have declared their commitment to the Peace Economy through donation and other means, and by "Shopping for Peace" using special credit cards and online malls, we can contribute to peace without spending an extra dime.
